By BBN Staff: While many travelers book their vacations early to be in Belize in time for the Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling race; the Western Border in Benque Viejo today had an increase in travelers waiting in long lines to enter the country for the Easter.
The 89th edition of the annual Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic is only two days away.
It is the largest one day sporting event in Belize. The one day amateur cycling race takes place this year on April 15 at starts at 6 a.m.
It begins and ends in Belize City. Cyclists take on a 144 mile riding challenge to San Ignacio Town and back.
Last year, Guatemalan brothers Alejandro Padilla Miranda and Jose Maria Julio Padilla Miranda won first and second place respectively.
BBN extends best wishes to all cyclists participating in the race this year.
