A message from the Belize Solid Waste Management Authority

By BBN Staff: The Belize Solid Waste Management Authority (BSWaMA) and the Ministry of the Environment issued a release today stating that the waste transfer stations in Belize City, San Ignacio/Santa Elena, San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker, and Burrell Boom will all be closed to the general public at 12 noon on Holy Thursday, April 13th, and will re-open at 8:00 am on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017.

The Regional Sanitary Landfill located at Mile 24 on the George Price Highway will be closed at 12 noon on Holy Thursday, April 13th,  and re open at 8:00 am on Tuesday April 18th, 2017.

The BCWaMA and the Ministry of Environment ask motorists and commuters and other road users to not to litter the highways and to keep any garbage in their vehicles or public transportation and dispose it properly upon arrival at the final destination.

There is only one Belize so do your part and help us to keep it clean.
