ong>By BBN Staff: Every year, in commemoration of World Book and Copyright Day on April 23rd, the Belize Book Industry Association (BBIA) organizes Book Week.
This year, the programme will commence at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, April 28 at the Punta Gorda Central Park and will continue at the Cayo Welcome Center in San Ignacio on April 29th from 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.
The theme for this year is “READERS ARE LEADERS!”
The two-day Book Week program includes a book fair and book exchange, storytelling, games, and sessions on publishing, digital illustration and the Belize Literary Prize.
The annual Literary Evening with its lively performances will be held at the Wildfire ArtZmosphere, San Ignacio from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on April 29th.
The events of Book Week 2017 are free and open to the public and is sponsored by the National Institute of Culture and History, the Belize National Library Service and Information System, the Belize Book Industry Association and local businesses.
The public is encouraged to take advantage of the special offers from booksellers around the country.
