Lake I man jailed for pen gun, bullet, and ganja

By BBN Staff: A man from the Lake Independence area of Belize City has found himself on the wrong side of the law after he was busted with a pen gun, a bullet, and marijuana.

According to police reports, at around 5 p.m. on Sunday, police were conducting a mobile patrol on Krooman Road when they stopped and conducted a search on Fenton Reyes, 30.

A search of Reyes, a known mechanic led to the discovery of 4.5 grams of cannabis, a black.22 pen gun, and a .22 live round.

He was arrested and charged for: possession of controlled drugs, possession of prohibited firearm, and “kept ammunition without a gun license”.

He is scheduled to appear in court today and will be remanded for the firearm related charges.
