br />By BBN Staff: Yesterday, BELTRAIDE signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the San Ignacio/ Santa Elena Town Council.
The aim of the agreement is to enhance and diversify economic activity in the municipality.
Through a closer collaboration between BELTRAIDE and the Town Council, the MOC will provide efficient and seamless business development services to entrepreneurs and to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) located in the jurisdiction.
BELTRAIDE’s Small Business Development Centre Belize (SBDCBelize) and San Ignacio/ Santa Elena Town Council’s Local Economic Development (LED) Unit will be the two respective units to carry out the work plan laid out under the MOC.
The Town’s Business Support Help Desk will work hand-in-hand with SBDCBelize to support local entrepreneurs and MSMEs by offering business guidance and development trainings.
SBDCBelize will also provide mentorship and coaching to the Business Support Officer to ensure that local business community receives the best possible business development support.
The MOC signing took place yesterday at the Welcome Centre in San Ignacio Town.
Signing on behalf of BELTRAIDE was General Manager, Lejia Melanie Gideon and on behalf of the town was the Twin Towns Mayor, Earl Trapp.
