Belize City house burns

By BBN Staff: According to police reports, yesterday morning  around 3:35, police visited Elston Kerr street, Belize City where cops observed a wooden house with zinc roofing completely engulfed in flames.

The fire was later extinguished by personnel from the Fire Department.

Dawn Faber, 52, owner of the house reported that she has not been living there and she is in the process of moving out. Faber only had some household items in the house and electricity was not connected.

Police also observed another wooden structure with zinc roofing in the same yard partially burnt.

Marvin Lord, 46, who resides in the house reported that around 3:30 that morning, he was awakened by his granddaughter who informed him that the other house was engulfed in flames.

Lord and his family tried to extinguish the fire.

The house belonging to Faber was completely destroyed while the other house was partially burnt and received water damage.

Both houses were un-insured and the value of the damage is unknown

The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.

No one was injured in these fires and police investigations continue.
