By BBN Staff: Thirteen members of the Ministry of Health gathered at the Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina today for a graduation ceremony from a field epidemiology training course sponsored by the the Council of Ministers of Health of Central America (COMISCA).

The training was geared towards enhancing the capacity of the officers, to be able to manage public health crises, such as the outbreak of an existing disease.

They were also trained in surveillance and monitoring techniques, to properly approach a potentially emerging disease. There were five graduates from the basic level, seven from the intermediate level and one from the advanced level of the training.

The graduation represents the fifth cohort from the Ministry to complete the training.
