Mexican authorities charge man for killing cousin in Chetumal

By BBN Staff: Last Thursday, BBN reported of a Belizean musician killed in Chetumal.

Saul Pech, a 19-year-old Yo Creek, Orange Walk resident was stabbed and killed at his apartment around two a.m.

Pech’s cousin, Romario was accused of the brutal murder since the cousins were reportedly in Saul’s apartment with two other men drinking when an argument started. Romario reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him to death.

According to reports, Mexican authorities will be charging Romario with manslaughter.

Romario and Saul were said to be like brothers and were both in a rock band.

Romario can apply to serve at least part of his sentence in Belize under a treaty between Mexico and Belize.
