By BBN Staff: Today marks the beginning of the second annual Music Week, hosted by the office of Belize’s Music Ambassador, Shyne Barrow.
The week started with the official launch ceremony, held at the Belize City House of Culture.
The week is geared towards showcasing Belizean talent and engaging partners of the music industry, as well as the consumers themselves on the importance of supporting Belizean artists.
Barrow said that the week will be filled with seminars to educate the public and businesses about copyright laws, and meetings with the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Barrow emphasized that the week’s main focus will be highlighting the importance the music industry can have in generating revenue for Belize.
The week will also feature three nights of live performances at the Fort George Memorial Park, showcasing Belize’s best and upcoming artists. The performances start on Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. and will run until 11 p.m. while the Friday and Saturday shows will run from 7 p.m. to midnight.
