By BBN Staff: On Saturday May 13, around 11 a.m., police responded to a house fire in Bella Vista village, Toledo. At the address, police saw a wooden structure house with thatched roof engulfed in flames.

Police investigations reveal that around 7 a.m., Elvira Peck, 40, went to San Isidro Village leaving her three children ages 2, 6, and 16 years old at home.

The neighbor was alerted by smoke coming from the house and immediately went to rescue the children, who escaped uninjured.

It was also revealed that one of the children was playing with a lighter, which caused the fire.

The building and its contents were completely destroyed by fire and the fire was extinguished by fire personnel.
