By BBN Staff: People across the country will gather to join hands on beaches, across bridges, along sea walls and in other public areas to stand in solidarity against offshore oil development in Belize, and to embrace a clean energy future on Saturday, May 20 at noon.

This is one of hundreds of synchronized events globally to raise awareness about the dangers of dirty fuels and the need to speed the transition to available, affordable clean energy solutions.

The event is particularly salient this year with Belize having just recently been confronted with seismic air gun blasting in our waters late October 2016.
Hands across the Sand/Land will take place at the following locations:

Orange Walk – Independence Plaza

Dangriga – Y Not Island

Belize City – Lighthouse

Placencia – Between Cozy Corner and Tipsy Tuna

Corozal – Miami Beach

Cayo – Wooden Bridge

Hopkins – Beach side (Catholic Church)

Sarteneja – Parque del Almandre

Punta Gorda – Front Street

Caye Caulker – Beach near San Pedro Belize Express

San Pedro – Central Park

Belmopan –Independence Hill
