Honduran woman drowns in Belize River

By BBN Staff: Today around 1:45 p.m., police visited an area near the Black Howler Evolution tour in Bermudan Landing, where  police constable, Dion Bellini reported that he and his common-law wife 23-year-old Denia Joselyn Zelaya, a naturalized Belizean of Cemetery Road, Belize City went for a swim.

While swimming together, Zelaya was carried by the current of the water.

Bellini tried to assist her but to no avail.

Zelaya went under water and did not resurface.

Villagers assisted but were unsuccessful.

Police investigations continue.
