Student arrested for random chopping incident

By BBN Staff:Yesterday at around 2:48 p.m., police received information of a chopping incident in Red Bank village in the Stann Creek district and visited the area.

Manuel Sho, 30, of Red Bank Village reported that a 15-year-old male student approached him while he was sitting on a picnic table by the Primary School.

The minor chopped Sho with a machete below the left side of his neck causing a large cut wound. He was also chopped to the right forearm.

According to Sho, the minor chopped him for no reason since they had never had any altercation or any exchange of words.

Sho was transported to the Independence Poly Clinic and was later transferred to the Southern Regional Hospital for further treatment.

The student was detained pending charges.
