Deputy Prime Minister Heads High-Level Delegation on Official Visit to Cuba

By BBN Staff: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports, Patrick Faber is presently leading an Official High-level Delegation to the Republic of Cuba from May 22 to 26 2017.

According to a Government of Belize press release, he is accompanied by Manuel Heredia Jr., Minister of Tourism & Civil Aviation, and Angel Campos, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health.

The delegation is supported by a technical team formed by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the National Sports Council, the National Institute for Culture and History, and the Belize Embassy in Cuba.
The release states that the Mission will call on Vice President of the Republic of Cuba Valdes Mésa on May 24th to express solidarity between Cuba and Belize and deepen the scope of cooperation between the two nations.
The traditional long-standing areas of cooperation in health and education will be discussed and the Deputy Prime Minister meets with the Ministers of Education and Culture, as well as other government officials to explore areas for further mutual development in culture, sports, tourism, and trade.
The delegation will also meet with current Belizean scholarship recipients studying at the Latin American School of Medicine.
