FCD assists farmers in Vaca Forest Reserve

By BBN Staff: Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) is assisting farmers in the Vaca Forest reserve area in Cayo.

FCD is distributing supplies for the farmers’ agro-ecological activities.

The aim is to conduct better sustainable practices in the reserve.

This initiative by FCD is supported by the British Embassy, GEF SGP and the Belize Forest Department.

The local farmers are also being supported in the production of vermi-culture.

FCD says that it is being done to promote the reproduction and use of worms for soil richness.
