By BBN Staff: Belizean athlete and decorated women’s sprinter, Kaina Martinez, participated yesterday at the 2017 NCAA outdoor track and field championships at IMG Academy in Florida, USA.
Martinez left the championships, a three-time All-American, making a pair of top finishes in the women’s 100-meter and 200-meter dash.
Martinez also topped the preliminary performance at the first track event of the day along with her Javelina colleagues: Lagae Brigance, Keandria Taylor and Plaserae Johnson and ran a time of 44.98 seconds for a third place finish and six points.
Martinez was responsible for the remaining ten points as she timed out in the 100-meter dash at 11.58 seconds for second place and ran the 200-meter dash in 24.10 seconds to place third.
Martinez was representing the Texas A&M University (TAMU) Kingsville team at the 2017 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
