By BBN Staff: BBN reported on Saturday that a woman had stabbed and killed her husband on Friday night in Seine Bight Village in the Stann Creek district.

On Sunday, police detained the woman for the murder. The victim was identified as Glen Ramirez, 31 years old.

According to reports, Ramirez and his wife were fighting in front of a restaurant when his wife stabbed him to the left side of the chest.

Police detained Deshawn Martinez Ramirez and was charged for murder and remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

Yesterday, Deshawn was taken out of the prison and appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith for hearing.

The Director of Public Prosecution Cheryl Lynn Vidal sent a memorandum instructing that the murder charge be withdrawn against Deshawn, declaring that she acted in self defense.
