By BBN Staff: National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) coordinators from around the country came together today in Belmopan for a State of Readiness meeting to mark the start of the new Hurricane Season for 2017.
Minister of National Emergency Management, Edmond Castro addressed the coordinators asking that they secure their families and themselves then to look after the affairs of the most vulnerable people that we have in our society.
Castro told them that NEMO under his watch must be, and shall be, and will be the best-run national emergency organization ever in this region. Castro applauded the coordinators for their hard work.
Hurricane Season 2017 officially began June 1 and runs until November 30. It is forecasted to be a season with above average activity for tropical systems.
