By BBN Staff: Developers and investors are advised that it is their legal obligation to contact the Department of the Environment (DOE) prior to commencement of any project/undertaking to initiate the environmental screening process in order to address possible environmental issues associated with their project.
The DOE reminds developers and companies who have received Environmental Clearance and have signed an Environmental Compliance Plan (ECP) with the DOE, to be current with the environmental monitoring fee as per Section 4.0 of the ECP.
When making payments or deposits for their monitoring fee, companies are reminded to present their Bill Payment ID. Those that do not yet have a Bill Payment ID or are not familiar with the Bill Payment ID system are asked to kindly get in contact with the DOE for more information and to receive your ID number. Payments made without this ID may not be recorded correctly and companies run the risk of the system showing a non-payment status.
After making the payment, kindly submit a copy of the receipt to the DOE in person or via email at email@example.com.
Please be informed that failure to make payment constitutes a breach of section 22 of the Environmental Protection Act and of Section 4.0 of the signed ECP.
