Mysterious disappearance of couple in Corozal

Posted: Saturday, June 3, 2017. 1:11 p.m. CST.

By BBN Staff: Troy Ferguson, 34, reported that at 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, his sister-in-law Zeida Orosco, 32, of San Andres Village, Corozal District left home in her green Chevy Prism car en route to Matchies Pool Spot located on 2nd Street North, Corozal Town.

Orosco was to take food for her boyfriend Baltazar Lopez, 41, of Ranchito Village, Corozal District and has not been seen or heard from since.

Orosco is of light brown complexion, is about 5’3” in height, has black curly shoulder length hair and weighs about 190 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red floral dress and a pair of pink slippers.

The family suspects that she is in the company of Lopez as he has not been seen either and his family has tried to contact him via his cell phone but he is not answering.

Yesterday evening, police visited a cane field about 3.8 kilometers south-west of Patchakan Village where they discovered Orosco’s Chevy Prism car completely destroyed by fire.

The Fire Chief for the Corozal District certified that the vehicle was intentionally set on fire as it didn’t show any signs of electrical problems.

Both persons were last seen together on Thursday night around 9:30 on the beach near Corozo Blue.

Police investigations continue.
