By BBN Staff: Hade Anaide Chacon, 32, of the San Mateo Area, San Pedro visited the San Pedro Police Sub-formation and reported that on Saturday at about 8:00 p.m., she dropped off her daughter Hamy Alena Reyes, 7, at her babysitter and went out with a friend.
On Sunday around 11:00 a.m., Chacon then went to the babysitter’s house to pick up her daughter but was informed that she went to church along with her kids. Chacon decided to wait at the house until midday.
The baby sitter’s children arrived at home so Chacon asked about her daughter. Chacon told police that she was told that her daughter went with her grandmother to her house and did not return to the church.
Chacon waited until 5:00 p.m. and then went to her sister’s house, where her mother Maria Quixchan was staying.
Chacon said that she asked for her daughter but they told her that her mother had taken the child to Guatemala around 10:00 a.m.on Sunday.
Chacon then made checks inside the house and noticed that her mother and daughter were not there. Chacon informed her sister that she would be going to the Police Station to make a report because she did not give her mother permission to take her daughter out of the country.
Reyes is described as light skinned, has light brown shoulder length hair, dark brown eyes, and is slim built.
Quixchan is about 4 feet in height, has long white hair, is medium built, and is from San Andres Petén, Guatemala.
