Security guard shot for gun, remains critical

By BBN Staff:  Last night Belize City police visited an open residential yard in the Police Street area where cops saw 50-year-old John Hoare, security guard of #11 Simon Lamb Street, Belize City suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Police investigations reveal that around 8:50 p.m., Hoare was sitting in the yard guarding slot machines owned by Princess Casino when he was approached by several men.

One of the men took out a firearm, fired several shots at him and stole his company’s licensed .9mm firearm with a magazine containing 8 live rounds of ammunition.

Hoare was rushed to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he received medical treatment and was admitted to ward.

His condition is described as critical.
