By BBN Staff: On Friday evening around 5:20, acting on information received of a shooting incident in Chunox Village, Corozal District, police visited the village where the body of Richard Allen Garcia, 44, was seen lying on the ground with  a machete in his hand.

Police investigations reveal that around 4:50 p.m., Garcia reportedly exited the house armed with a machete and attacked a police officer, who was part of a patrol deployed to perform a search at Garcia’s home.

Several warning shots were fired to discourage him but to no avail. Police then fired at Garcia, who was fatally injured.
