Police celebrate Police Week 2017

By BBN Staff: Police officers gathered for a mass yesterday in celebrating the start of police week 2017.

The Belize Police Department have prepared a number of activities to commemorate their commitment to the community and country.

The activities include clean up campaigns, school visits, open days, sports days, appearance on talk shows and award ceremonies to recognize exemplary officers.

Commissioner of Police, Allen Whylie issued his police week message informing that this week, June 18 to 24th will be celebrated as Police week 2017 under the theme: The police and the community working in partnership for a safer Belize.

Whylie stressed the importance of the police working with the community.

This morning Assistant Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams posted on his social media page: “ Police service is enhanced by community participation. Without the community, policing will fail.”

BBN salutes all dedicated police officers and wishes the Department a Happy Police Week 2017.
