Belikin launches new light beer

By BBN Staff: Belize Brewing Company, which produces Belize’s most famous beer, Belikin, held a brief ceremony this morning at its brewery in Ladyville, Belize to announce the launch of its new line of beer, Belikin Light.

Belikin Light will hit stores countrywide starting July and the company expects the price to remain consistent to the price of its other products already available.

The new Belikin Light has a lower alcohol content (3.8%) than the original. Though meant to be a light beer, Belikin assures that the blend is made with the same care and quality as all its other products.

Belikin Light is a pale lager brewed in classic European lager style. It is made from Canadian Pilsner malt and a blend of German hops. The light beer is targeted toward the active consumer, concerned with low-calorie intake, according to the company.

The beer has been in development since January, and the company said it was excited to finally unveil its latest beer.
