Walk in my Shoe fundraiser

Posted: Friday, June 30, 2017. 2:52 p.m. CST.

My name is Ruby Reyes and I am a teacher at SCA and an adjunct professor at UB.

I am coordinating a shoe drive to secure 50 school shoes and school supplies to 50 deserving girls of Big Falls R.C. in the Toledo District.

I taught there for four years prior to moving to Belize City so I’m aware of the difficulty parents face, like in many parts of the country, in preparing their children for school which often requires funds that surpasses the available financial resources.

I have been blessed with so much and in times like these where cost of living is increasing now more than ever that we are called to bless others with what little or ALOT that we may have. So I’m asking for your help in promoting this initiative.

I’ve secured about 25 shoes from generous anonymous donors, but I need the public’s help to be able to secure more shoes. I intend to purchase the shoes from Shoemania at a cost of $22 each. So persons can either donate in cash or kind!

If they would like to donate in kind they can contact me at 662-2990 so that I can indicate to them the shoe size and style to buy. They can also pay for a $22 gift certificate to Shoemania to ‘Ruby Reyes Shoe Drive’ if they would like.

After collecting the shoes they will be packaged off along with the school supplies to be distributed on Saturday August 19th, 2017 at the Big Falls RC school compound.

Thanks to Sweet Tooth cake for collaborating with me. Thank you so much for helping to make this initiative a success.

God Bless!

Warm regards,

Ruby Reyes
