Posted: Saturday, July 1, 2017. 10:31 a.m. CST.

By BBN Staff: Belmopan police are investigating the murder of Teakettle resident, Markie Mendez.

Police are seeking Erwin Santos, 24, for questioning in connection with the murder.

Mendez went missing for five days and on Monday night, his body was found near the old Warrie Head bridge by some farmers.

Mendez’s body was partially decomposed and his father identified him by his shoe and tattoos.

Police were unable to determine if Mendez was killed there or his body just dumped in the area.

Police are waiting for test results from the bloody clothes the residents found at the cemetery.

The Santos brothers are no strangers to police as in March, Erwin’s brother Shaylon was charged for the murder of Keona Ara whose body was dumped at a dumpsite out of Belmopan and his other brother, Shemar was charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Ernesto Wiltshire.
