By BBN Staff: The Belize Progressive Party issued a release today stating that it frowns upon the repugnant testimonies given by the elected Ministers of Government during yesterday’s Senate Committee Hearing, concerning the Immigration scandal.

“Despite the blatant disregard and disrespect that was displayed during the hearing, the BPP is by no means surprised, for we recognise that such arrogance is demonstrative of Belize being in the final stage of corruption, which is TYRANNY. At this juncture, Belizeans must take stock and accept ownership of the prevailing, intentional dysfunction that is perpetuated by this corrupt system, for it is the people who persist in supporting corrupt politicians by continuing to elect them to office, despite now having a viable alternative to the PUDP,” the release states.

The BPP reminds Belizeans that in preparation for the upcoming Municipal Elections on March 7th, 2018, you have only the months of July and August to update your voter registration.

The BPP further said that we must redouble our call for “RE-REGISTRATION NOW!” after two decades of non-adherence by both PUP and UDP administrations concerning the Representation of the People Act (ROPA).

The BPP says that it demand the Integrity Commission do its part, by ensuring that ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS ADHERE FULLY TO THE PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION ACT (POCA), SO THAT THOSE WHO ARE DELINQUENT, PAY THEIR FINES!

“These are among the initial, critical steps your BPP champions toward making Belize a more equitable society, which is part of our prescription toward moving our beloved nation from the brink of being a failed state,” it further alluded.

The BPP calls on Belizeans from all walks of life to do their part to help us CHANGE THE SYSTEM.
