Official launch of September Celebrations goes to Sugar City

By BBN Staff: The National Celebrations Commission yesterday announced the Official National September Celebrations Launching in Orange Walk.

At a meeting of the National Celebrations Commission, with representation from various municipalities, a lotto pick was held for the hosting of the Official Launch for this year’s National September Celebrations.

Mayors, or their representatives, from Corozal, Orange Walk, San Pedro, Belmopan, and Dangriga were present and excited to vie for the ability to host the Official Opening Ceremonies in their municipality.

Each city or township was made aware of the requirements to host the prestigious event.

Upon ensuring they would be able to meet the criteria, each submitted their names into the lottery pick for the honor of hosting the event at their location.

The lucky winner of the draw is Orange Walk Town and the Official Launch of the September Celebrations will be held on Sunday, 3 September 2017.
