By BBN Staff: On Saturday, he robbed La Popular Bakery in Belize City of $175 and yesterday he was remanded to prison until September 19.

According to court information, Jose Cocom, 24, stormed into the bakery armed with a gun and demanded cash but while fleeing the scene he was detained by police. He pled not guilty to this charge.

However, he pled guilty and was fined $100 for committing a mischievous act when he gave the cops who had busted him, a false name.

He told them his name was Edwardo Diaz.

He told the court that he lied about his name because he was afraid.

If he does not pay this fine by the end of August he will serve one month in prison.
