Bishop Martin Neighborhood Watch meets with community policing officers

By BBN Staff: Last night, the Bishop Martin Neighborhood Watch of Santa Elena town held a meeting with community members and community-policing officers to discuss the concerns of safety in the community.

Assistant Superintendent Gerald Jones of Community Policing, Deputy Officer Commanding San Ignacio Police Assistant Superintendent Daniel Iche, and Cpl. Jason Jones of community policing Cayo were in attendance.

The members expressed their concerns and the officers documented and pledged to offer more resources to the community policing office in San Ignacio.

The group emphasized the importance of the police/community working relationship.

Chairman of the Bishop Martin neighborhood watch thanked all officers and members for attending the meeting and sharing their concerns.

Cpl. Jones also expressed gratitude to the community and pledged to continue working in close partnership with the community.
