Attorney Arthur Saldivar fined by Legal Council

By BBN Staff: Attorney Arthur Saldivar was fined a sum of $3,300 on July 5th by the General Legal Council.

That money must be paid to the government of Belize within 30 days of the ruling. The decision was made because the council found he failed to adequately represent his client, Abdul Marin.

Marin lost a $40,000 libel suit against Chairman of the Kolbe Foundation, John Woods.

Marin told the council he wasn’t able to file a defense because Saldivar never filed the application and never met with him after agreeing to be his representative.
