By BBN Staff: The Department of Youth Services (DYS) held a launching today for the song and music video promoting the World Youth Conference 2017.
The DYS held the launch at its Regent Street office this morning, gathering many of the artists featured in the song, along with Belize’s Music Ambassador Shyne Barrow.
The song and video featured prominent Belizean artists such as Supa G, Tanya Carter, along with personalities such as Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Youth Ambassador Tarun Butcher, and the Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber.
The song was recorded and mixed in the recording studio stationed at the DYS office on Regent Street. Both the song and music video form a part of a public awareness campaign leading up to the conference to be held from November 6-9. The DYS is also partnering with various agencies within the United Nations, and using various social media platforms to promote the conference.
The event, will be held under the theme: “Globally Running to 2030, Becoming Sustainably Strong.” The event will gather 250 youth leaders from around the world to discuss pertinent issues in youth development in the context of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
The DYS is hoping to have participation from 50 Belizean youth leaders between the ages of 18-35. The event will be historic, because Belize will be the first country in the Western Hemisphere to hold the event.
