By BBN Staff: Yesterday, Juan Choc, 23, of Jordan Village, Toledo was taken to court to answer to charges of murder for the death of Bangladeshi national, Abdush Salam.

Salam was found dead on July 1 inside his Belize City home nude on his bed with his hands tied behind his back with a belt.

Salam’s bed was broken in and police investigations revealed that someone had entered his apartment and manually strangled him. Since there was no sign of forced entry into the place, it is believed that the murderer was invited inside by Salam since according to his roommate, he frequently had male visitors.

Choc is a construction worker of Baymen Avenue. No plea was taken and he was remanded until September 19.
