Newborn thrown away in Belize City canal

By BBN Staff: Reports to BBN indicate that an infant child was discovered wrapped in a plastic bag in the canal near South Street in Belize City a short time ago.

Initial reports had indicated the baby was a fetus, however, reports suggest the child may have been a full-term baby just hours old.

According to reports, a City Council worker who was cleaning the canal made the gruesome discovery as he fished the plastic bag out of the canal.

Police have since responded and have retrieved the discarded child. BBN will have an update when police give an official confirmation.
