By BBN Staff: Richard Holder is presenting his new exhibition entitled “Social Media For the People” (#SM4TP) at The Image Factory Art Foundation in Belize City.
The exhibition opens on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6 to 9 pm.
The artist will be available for interviews tomorrow at 10:00 am for a preview of the show.
“Social Media is a platform used to share our thoughts and lives with one another. It is also used to market businesses and products in the modern world. This project aspires to give a voice to the Street Vendors of Belize City by promoting their images and products, while offering a glimpse of their lives on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter,” Holder said in a statement.
“These people, who are unable to engage in the business of social media due to a lack of resources or inability to navigate these popular social media sites, are given the opportunity to be seen online by their community and the world for the first time.”
Richard Holder was born in Belize City and his work has been featured in various solo and group exhibitions locally and internationally since 2000. His works have been featured in Penthouse and The New York Times.
