By BBN Staff: Ady Pacheco had previously told the Senate Select Committee that Cabinet had made a decision to stop background checks on persons applying for visas and passports. When asked, Prime Minister Dean Barrow could not recall and had to double check before confirming.

Will he be called before the Senate Select Committee to be questioned on this matter?

On Wednesday, the media asked Chairman of the Committee, Aldo Salazar, his personal views but he indicated not so.

He said, “I don’t see why we would have to call the Prime Minister.”

However, he maintained that the committee would have to collectively make that decision.
