Head on motorcycle collision on George Price Highway

By BBN Staff: Yesterday morning around 7:00, police responded to a road traffic accident between miles 60 and 61 on the George Price highway, Cayo District.
Police arrived at the scene and observed two motorcycle with damages to their front portions.
The initial investigation has revealed that Oscar Erlindo Aguirre, 23, a security guard of Benque Viejo del Carmen town was riding his brown Honda CM 400 motorcycle from a west-to-east direction heading to San Ignacio Town.
When Aguirre was approaching a T-junction which leads to Chaa Creek, on his right side, he saw a red trail motorcycle, driven by Kevlin Elmer, 25, a tour guide of Santa Elena town. Elmer was driving in the opposite direction from east-to-west and upon reaching the junction, Elmer made a sudden turn into his lane going to the Chaa Creed Road which caused a head-on collision.
Both drivers were flung from their cycles and sustained body injuries.
They were both transported to the San Ignacio Community Hospital.
A medico form was issued to Aguirre, who sustained a fractured left hand and a wound on the head. He was admitted for observation. Elmer also got a medico form as he complained chest pain.
Elmer, however, was served with a notice of intended prosecution.
