More changes as Tropical Storm Franklin approaches

By BBN Staff: In preparations for the incoming storm, more businesses and other institutions have begun making changes to their regular business schedule.

Scotia Bank’s San Pedro branch will be closing at 1 p.m. today, while it’s Belize City and Belama branch are still scheduled to remain open until 3. The bank emphasized that the closing time may be subject to change, pending the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) update scheduled for midday.

The Belize’s Banks, San Pedro, and Orange Walk branches will be closing as of 12 noon, while all other branches are scheduled to remain open until 3 p.m.

Wesley Junior College has announced that it is changing its registration dates from August 8 & 9 to August 15 & 16, while the Ministry of Education has announced that all Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops for teachers have been postponed.

The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital has suspended all non-essential

Services, including specialist clinics, administrative services, Morgue, high-Risk clinic, and medical imaging services, due to emergency activation.

The City Emergency Management Organization has activated its command center at the Charles Bartlette Hyde Building and is currently holding emergency meetings there.
