Cab driver found dead, stabbed multiple times

By BBN Staff: On Monday morning a cab driver was found dead at the Corner East Collet Canal and Racecourse street in Belize city.

He was identified as Thomas Arthur Staine, 39. Staine was observed lying face down near the canal side with both of his hands tied with a black shoe lace.

He had been stabbed multiple times to the right hand and upper chest area.

Police transported his body to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where he was pronounced dead.

According to police investigations, at around 3:00 a.m. yesterday, Staine left from the Newtown Barracks area, where he normally runs his taxi, to purchase food.

At about an hour later, his white Geo Prizm was found at the corner of King street and Amara avenue in Belize city. Police have not yet made any arrests
