Woman and boy shot on Cleghorn Street in Belize City

By BBN Staff: Last night while many were making preparations for tropical storm Franklin, an armed bandit badly injured a woman and a teen.

At 10:11 p.m., police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) where cops saw Fiona Spain, 35, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the right lower back.

Also injured was a 14-year-old boy who was shot to the left wrist, upper left chest and upper right back.

Police investigations revealed that the minor was sitting on a chair on a verandah on Cleghorn Street, when a man that was walking in front of Rivero’s welding started to fire shots in their direction causing their injuries.

Following the incident, the gunman ran down Cleghorn Street towards New Road making good his escape.
