By BBN Staff:  Robin Leanne Greenway-Trockstad, 33, was detained by Belize Police and deported to Canada where she was charged with abduction and remains detained.

Her charges date back to three years ago on January 6th when she abducted her then eleven month old son and fled the country.
A court order granted the child’s father sole interim custody and ordered the return of the child but Trockstad never adhered to the order.

On July 9th, Canadian Police learnt of her whereabouts and shared the information with Belizean authorities who on that same day located the woman and the child in San Ignacio, Cayo.

They were both taken into custody and transported to Belmopan, but the mother was unable to provide immigration documents and so was jailed and fined.

Her son was placed in the care of the Belize Human Services Department.

On August 9, 2017, Robin was deported to the U.S. where she was arrested upon landing in Houston, TX.

She was then returned to Canada where she was taken into custody at the Calgary Airport.

Her son remains in the care of the Belize Human Services Department.
