The Belmopan Police Department and the Ministry of Agriculture concluded their 2017 Youths Engaged in Agriculture summer camp on Saturday, August 5.

The camp was hosted for one week and was a collaborative effort to reduce the incidence of crime committed by youths.

Over 100 youths from Belmopan and surrounding communities participated in the camp.

The children enjoyed visits to the Quality Poultry Factory, Western Dairies and Bel Car in Spanish Lookout, and engaged in hands-on lessons in agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture, agro-processing and livestock.

On Friday, August 4th, they also enjoyed activities at the Banana Bank Lodge.

The camp concluded at the National Agriculture and Trade Show grounds with zip lining and a kids rodeo.
