Police recover money stolen from Caribbean Tires; employee detained

By BBN Staff: BBN reported on Sunday that Caribbean Tires in Spanish Lookout was robbed of over $50,000.

David Remier, 54, reported that between the hours of 6:15 pm on Friday, August 11, 2017, and 7 am on August 12, 2017, someone broke into the business establishment and damaged an iron safe by wrenching off the iron safe door located in a room at the lower flat of the building.

The robber(s) stole US$20,000, $5000 in banking checks, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Today, San Ignacio police reported that they have recovered the money and have an employee detained pending investigations.
