Three Belizeans alive after crashing into Mexican truck

By BBN Staff: Three persons are lucky to be alive and in a stable condition after their vehicle collided into a cargo truck.

According to police reports at about 7:00pm on Friday police visited an area between miles 89 and 90 on the Phillip Goldson Highway.

There police observed a red Freightliner Century Truck with a Mexican license plate on the left side of the highway in the direction of Corozal Town to the Northern Border.

Police also observed that a gold Toyota Corolla car with Corozal license plate on the right side of the Highway had its front portion extensively damaged.

Investigation revealed  the Toyota Corolla was travelling on the Phillip Goldson Highway heading towards Corozal Town from the Belize Northern Border but upon reaching mile 89 and 90 the driver lost control and slammed into the left rear portion of the container.

The driver was later identified as Ernesto Pech, 47. His passengers were identified as  Jarbi Alvarez, 41, and Rosari Alvarez, 45.

Rosari Alarez was seen with cut wounds over to the right side of temple, right side of the cheek, the right elbow, and complained of pain on both her hands.

Jarbi Alvarez was seen with 2 cut wounds on right side of his cheek, right elbow and right knee.

Pech was later released from the Northern Regional Hospital as he did not suffer any injuries. His friends remain admitted in a stable condition.
