Police identify body of man found with throat slashed

By BBN Staff: Acting upon information received, Belize City police visited a dirt road located between miles 3 and 4 of the George Price Highway at around 1:30 p.m. near the dump site and found the body of man who had his throat slashed.

The victim has since been identified as Linton Galenorman Wilshire, 25, of Neal’s Pen Road Extension, Belize City.

Wilshire’s body had a large wound to the neck and a cut wound to the left side of his temple.

According to police, around 1:18 p.m. yesterday, a man was riding his bicycle on the dirt road to the dump site when he came across the body.

Wilshire’s body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A post-mortem examination was conducted which certified the cause of death to be external exsanguination due to multiple cut wounds to the neck and blunt force trauma to the head.

Police are investigating.
