By BBN Staff: Belize City cops have taken a gun off the streets and out of the reach of criminals.

Just before midday on Friday police conducted searches on Amara Avenue which led to the discovery of a homemade firearm.

The firearm was wrapped up inside a black t-shirt.

When police looked inside the chamber of the gun they observed a .38 round. No one was in the area at the time and so the firearm and ammunition were labeled as found property.
