Dion Leslie wins UDP Mayoral convention

By BBN Staff: Dion Leslie is the United Democratic Party’s (UDP) new Belize City Mayoral candidate after defeating Philip Willoughby at yesterday’s municipal convention held at the ITVET campus.

Leslie beat Willoughby with 3,073 to 2,388 votes, winning by a total of 685 votes. Hyacinth Latchman-Cuellar, Alifa Elrington, Bernard Q. Pitts Jr., Dean Samuels, Alain Gonzalez, Judith Enriquez, Kevin Singh, Jason Edwards, Noreen Martinez, and Willoughby make up the rest of the UDP’s slate for councilors.

A total of 5,589 delegates reportedly took part in the convention.
