CARISECURE forum held in Belize

By BBN Staff: Government Ministers and Permanent Secretaries from Eastern and Southern Caribbean countries, including Barbados, Guyana and St. Lucia are in Belize this week for a Citizen Security forum as part of the CARISECURE Project.The CARISECURE Project is an initiative organized by the US government, aimed at strengthening evidence based decision making for citizen security in the Caribbean. Belize was recognized as a unique pioneer to create a link between the regions for information and data sharing on citizen security related topics that affect the hemisphere; and was selected as an ideal partner for this exchange. The initiative is part of USAID’s Youth Empowerment Services.

The event concludes today with a tour of the police Eastern Division and the Belize Central Prison.
