By BBN Staff: The Government of Belize is making moves to decriminalize certain quantities of marijuana. However, it appears that certain persons have taken note and have already begun to plant to supply the developing demand.

On Tuesday, Hopkins police conducted an operation which led to the discovery of 10 marijuana plants at the Maya Center village in Stann Creek.

Police quickly uprooted the plants and destroyed them.

At the same location, police found several boards of different sized that were illegally harvested. Police confiscated the boards.

No one was in the area to face any charges for the marijuana plants or the boards.
